On Saturday May 21, 2011 I photographed the first annual Family Fitness Challenge for the Buckhead Patch at Mighty Jumps off of Collier Road in Buckhead in support of National Physical Fitness and Sports Month to engage parents and their kids in an afternoon of fun and fitness. The purpose of the event was to commemorate National Physical Fitness and Sports Month through fun fitness activities for those families living within the metro-Atlanta area. Statistics on the lack of physical activity and childhood obesity are rising at alarming rates. May was declared the national observance month for physical fitness and sports in 2010 in an effort to fight against health complications that arise from childhood obesity. The aim of the event was to inform families about the different activities they can do to make healthy lifestyles a routine. Here are my favorite images from the event.
