The Original El Taco

I photographed the Original El Taco for the Virginia Highlands Patch newspaper on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. El Taco has taken Tex-Mex and infused it with a more traditional authentic flair. A part of the Fifth Group family of restaurants the Original El Taco is a lively and fun experience for residents and visitors to the Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta. These are my favorite images of the restaurant.

The Orginial El Taco is located at 1186 N. Highland Ave. and offers patrons table, booth and bar seating, an outdoor patio, a salsa bar with five housemade sauces, a full bar with a wide variety of tequillas and the Wheel of Taco.

The Original El Taco serves up the pan-roasted cod with tomatoes, charred jalapenos, and capers over a bed of roasted potatoes. The dish is paired with a frozen mojito.
