I photographed the Agavero Cantina off of Lawrenceville Hwy. in Lilburn for a business feature for the Lilburn Patch newspaper on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Agavero Cantina has a rustic feel to most of the restaurant. Exposed walls with old photographs and ornate tequila bottles greet guests through the front door. The bar area has a lucha libre, or Spanish wrestling, theme. Murals of luchadores adorn the dark walls and numerous choices in alcohol are given to customers. But by far the star of the show is Agavero’s food. While guests can order the normal Mexican flair, the cantina offers numerous, more authentic choices. Do yourself a favor and go out on a limb. Don’t just order tacos or a burrito.
