Portland’s Waterfront

Sunday, August 19, 2012

Coming off of a long night at the wedding reception in Banks, Oregon for our friends (which you will see in tomorrow’s post) we decided to take it easy after returning to Portland. What better way to spend a little time in downtown than to walk along the waterfront. The Willamette River, a major tributary of the Columbia River, passes right through the city and there is a park that stretches along its length. Walkers, bikers, skateboarders, families, children, couples, pretty much everyone was out on Sunday to enjoy the day. The waterfront has numerous highlights including a large fountain area where children can play as well as free funky bike rentals.
