Big Chicken Barbershop Chorus

Monday, August 13, 2012

The Big Chicken Barbershop Chorus is an Atlanta staple. Originally formed as the Atlanta Peachtree Chorus, the Marietta chapter broke off and formed in 1986 taking the name of the famous landmark. The chorus is made up of men around the city that like to perform songs, usually acapella, for audiences. Conducted by Lars Grevstad, the group rehearses at John Knox Presbyterian Church in Marietta. I photographed one of these rehearsals for a Three of a Kind photo feature for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
