The sun is not up yet as cars pull into the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Alpharetta. Hundreds of bikers start to pull their gear from their cars, pump tires and check their breaks. The 2012 Tour de Pink starts around 7:30 so these bikers must get ready. The bike race, sponsored by the Young Survival Coalition, is in its third year and has grown exponentially in that short time frame. 750 bicyclists, including 60 breast cancer survivors, are participating in the early morning ride which allows them to choose their own length from one mile to 100 miles. The YSC is a global organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women diagnosed with breast cancer. This year projected fundraising from the race is expected to reach $300,000.
