Polly Sherrill has been working with clay since 1985. Known around the festival circuit as Polly the Potter, Sherrill travels around Georgia attending eight each year. Polly also teaches pottery classes as well as holds summer camps in her studio off of Dekalb Ave. in downtown. I spent a few hours with Sherrill watching her throw bowls on the wheel as we chatted. As I photographed her, Polly mentioned that she uses close to two and a half tons of clay each year.
