Still Family Farm

Saturday, October 5, 2013

October has made it to Atlanta and with it all things Halloween. Residents start stocking up on candy, getting costumes together, planning parties and picking out the perfect pumpkin to carve. The city is renowned for its ghoulish side as well. You have plenty of opportunities to get lost in fields of corn or be scared out of your skin at one of the many haunted houses in the metro area. Today I am featuring one activity to get your heart pumping, your brain thinking and your spirit ready for All Hallow’s Eve. Still Family Farm is a seventh generation farm in Powder Springs that is in its first year of providing pumpkins and Halloween activities. Tractor pulled hayrides, zip lines, pumpkin patches and rubber duck water races are all set up in stations around the farm, however the main draw for me was the pumpkin slingshot. Try your hand at aiming small pumpkins at hay bale and wheelbarrow targets set up on a range. Or try for distance. As of Saturday the record was 200 feet.
