Over 2,300 young girls, their families and friends gathered at Atlantic Station in downtown Atlanta early Sunday morning to celebrate the culmination of 12 weeks of hard work. The Girls on the Run after school program empowers young women to be the best they can be while instilling the notions of togetherness, helping one another and teamwork. The 5k race on Sunday was the icing on the cake. The girls came dressed in different tutus and capes with dyed hair and ribbons but all bearing the #1 bib number.
