Portraits in the Snow

Tuesday, January 28, 2014

It wound up being a pretty special day in Atlanta as a rare snowfall blanketed the city in white. There is something about snow that is magical. As children, my sisters and I enjoyed a rare day off from school to frolic in the powdery white wetness, building snowmen, having snowball fights, even sledding. (which is pretty funny because like today it rarely snowed more than a few inches) Later in life I had the opportunity to live in Massachusetts which let me relive some of those childhood memories this time with numerous feet of snow. That being said I got to share the magic with my two year old niece Tuesday as the snow kept falling throughout the day.

What normally takes just a few minutes to travel to my parent's house actually took 45 minutes.

What better way to end a day playing in the snow than a cup of steaming hot chocolate complete with marshmallows.
