One of my favorite places in all of Atlanta to spend time at is the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. Once you walk through the doors, the space opens up into a large plaza where two dinosaur fossils wait to greet you. There is a spiral staircase that leads you down to the main floor so you can truly get a perspective of how large these ancient beasts actually were. It’s breathtaking and it brings me back to my childhood because growing up I loved dinosaurs. Who didn’t? For many years now, the museum has held their Martinis & IMAX event each Friday evening after the normal museum hours have ended. Music fills the museum as you enter and the low din of background conversation. Drinks and food are served at tables or to groups of people standing on the outside of the dance space. Couples dance together underneath the giant fossils as the night continues. You can even grab your drink and catch a movie in the IMAX theater that is on the upper level of the museum. It’s the perfect place for date night which is why I wanted to feature it for a Valentine’s Day photo spread. So if you haven’t gotten a chance dance and drink the night away or are looking for something a little fancier than dinner and a movie I would highly recommend checking out Fernbank!
