I love Fernbank, the natural history museum in Atlanta. From the giant dinosaur fossils that greet you when you enter the main hall to the ever changing exhibits that the museum holds, it’s a great place learn something new or to spend a rainy afternoon like it was on Sunday. The current exhibit is Whales: Giants of the Deep and it is pretty awesome. Fossils of whales hang from the walls, ceiling and behind glass cases. Not just the whales of today but prehistoric whales as well. There’s also a replica of a whale heart that has interactive activities for children on the inside as well as information and facts on the struggle of many whales that are endangered species today. There’s so much to see and learn. Yet again Fernbank does not disappoint! If you want to check it out, the exhibit will be up through Aug. 24.
