Rail Art District Studio Cruise

Saturday, March 15, 2014

Saturday was busy as usual which is always a good thing. I had the opportunity to photograph the Rail Art District’s StudioCruise in Avondale Estates, Decatur and Scottdale. Over 30 studios and artists participated and opened up their galleries to the public for them to come and check out the art and live demonstrations. MudFire Clayworks, Atlanta Hot Glass, Paper Trail Art Studio, Little Tree Studios, Root City Market and Yay Studio were just some that participated in the cruise. One of the big draws was the Avondale Towne Cinema, which has been closed up for years, but was available to walk through and catch some performances by local theater and drama groups. It was a pretty afternoon which helped to bring out the crowds and most of the studios were within walking distance of each other.
