So Saturday I got to witness a piece of Georgia sports history in the making. Kennesaw State University held tryouts for its first ever football team. For the past few years the college has been working towards building a stadium and practice fields and it looks as if next fall The Owls will be a contender in the Big South Conference playing such teams as Paine College, Coastal Carolina and Presbyterian College. 100 current students at the university came out for the tryouts early on Saturday and for the next three hours put themselves through numerous drills to find out if they have what it takes to make the cut. I would say it is safe to assume that over the next year head coach Brian Bohannon will be trying to recruit some current players from other colleges but there was some definite talent that came out to play.
