To celebrate Friday the 13th I headed down to Philips Arena in Atlanta to photograph the Atlanta Dream as they took on the Minnesota Lynx. Now every time I shoot basketball I always hear Basketball is my favorite sport, I love the way they dribble up and down the court, in my head. I don’t know why but I do. I do however digress, Atlanta’s darling Maya Moore made her presence felt during the game. The former University of Connecticut player has been a forward for the Lynx for the past three years. Although the Lynx drew first blood it was the Dream that led the game for the majority of four quarters of play. Minneso struggled in the first half trailing by 20 or so points. They came out strong in the second half blocking some key points and dropping Atlanta’s lead to 11. The end of the third and the fourth quarter got interesting quickly as the Lynx brought the game to within three points twice and had a chance to pull a last minute upset but floundered underneath the net. Final score Atlanta 85, Minnesota 82.
