Fall is finally here and although the temperatures in Atlanta aren’t cooperating there are plenty of activities close to the city that will put you in the mood. Of course for me, one of my favorite activities (probably from my time living in Massachusetts) is going apple picking. There are plenty of orchards in the North Georgia Mountains to pick from and in just a little under an hour on Sunday I was in Ellijay at Hillcrest Orchards. Hillcrest is pretty cool. Not only are there tons of apples growing on rows and rows of trees on their property but there are also all sorts of family friendly activities to while the time away. They have live music on the weekends, kids activities and even pig races. So if you want an early taste of the best time of year head just a little ways north and check out some of the best apples in the state!
