Circumcision Protest

Friday, December 12, 2014

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released its first-ever draft guidelines on circumcision that recommend that doctors counsel parents and uncircumcised males on the health benefits of the procedure. Since then the CDC has come under fire from certain groups for supporting circumcision. The stance is that circumcision is a means of preventing HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. That announcement has also sparked at least a few people to act in Atlanta as on this particular Friday there were people outside the CDC with signs protesting.
