Saturday I went to Party with the Penguins at the Georgia Aquarium in downtown Atlanta. I was really looking forward to getting an up close look at these fancy flightless birds that are always dressed in tuxedos. There were tons of kids running around to the different activities that the aquarium had set up. Stations where you could build a penguin nest, learn how penguins keep their feathers dry while in the water and much more were set up in one of the ballrooms. The highlight of the morning came when trainer Jenn O’Dell brought out Idili, a male African penguin, one of many that the aquarium studies, and answered questions posed by the children that came to the event. It definitely wasn’t a bad start to my day!
