The state of Georgia made some headway on Friday in getting more people off of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or S.N.A.P. The U.S. Secretary of Labor, Thomas Perez, and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack made the announcement that Georgia is one of 10 states that will be awarded a $15 million grant to provide education and training to help food stamp recipients transition from government assistance to the work world.

The secretaries made the announcement during a press conference at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville after the two men made a short tour of the school, getting to talk to some of the students and professors.
