So Sunday started with a trip to Ponce City Market as 700 strangers got cozy to watch Nick Cave’s Up Right: Atlanta performance in an interactive, theater in the round type atmosphere. Known for his Soundsuits, very colorful and texture rich body suits, Nick Cave, with the help of choreographer T.Lang brought his vision to life. 31 dancers entertained around 700 people who came to see this particular show.
The Up Right: Atlanta series actually ran Friday through Sunday with two performances per day at the still developing market place. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance as dancers, in their awesome attire, brought Cave’s vision to life and at the same time brought the audience in to play.
Atlanta is a great place for performance art and if you weren’t one of the around 4,000 people to see the show, you may want to make it a priority to catch the next one.
