This weekend Oakland Cemetery will be transformed into a living sound stage as 17 artists give their take on the musical history of one of Atlanta’s oldest cemeteries. The Cryptophonic Tour will mix the beauty of the cemetery with music, art and live performances this coming Saturday for the first annual Arts at Oakland.
This past weekend I was given the opportunity to meet some of the artists and take photographs as they set up a dry run for the festival. Using unconventional speaker setups, natural acoustics, placement, artwork, history, visual storytelling and some mechanical ingenuity, Saturday promises to be a very cool experience!
