This past weekend was busy and full of music! Always a nice combination. Sunday entailed a trip to Rome to check out the CounterPoint Festival. Saturday, instead of jam bands, hip hop and electronic dance music, consisted of jazz and a lot of it. The Atlanta Jazz Festival has been going on the entire month of May but culminated over Memorial Day Weekend at Piedmont Park.
Three stages were set up and a full line up came together to share their talents and love of music with the masses of the city. Saturday alone featured Kebbi Williams and his Wolfpack ATL, as well as The Rad Trads, Kenosha Kid, Marcus Strickland and those weren’t even the headliners. Tens of thousands crowded around the main stage near Park Tavern and those that were in the mood made the walk between that and the two smaller stages.
Music echoed throughout the park all weekend and jazz took over the city.
