Twain’s Ethan Wurtzel

Ethan Wurtzel (pronounced A-tan) is celebrating a birthday of sorts this year. 20 years to be exact and the owner and brain behind Twain’s Billiards & Tap in Decatur is just getting warmed up. I remember going to the local spot in Decatur back in high school and college. At that time, just a slightly dingy pool hall that happened to serve beer and bar food, Twain’s was somewhere to go hang out. But through the two decades of operation, the small billiards hall has evolved into the bustling social hub it represents today. A craft brewery in its own right. Food locally sourced. Not one but two bars with billiard tables and shuffleboard. A steady stream of regulars coming through the doors. A place that is happy to call Decatur home.

Ethan Wurtzel, Twain's Billiards & Tap owner, is celebrating a whopping 20 years in business. Although the actual anniversary was Jan. 1, the Decatur staple will be celebrating all year long.
