Volunteers spent Martin Luther King Weekend not at home or with family but out in the Decatur community helping clean up the neighborhoods near the Solarium. Not just the neighborhoods but groups were sent to 33 different homes to help fix them up. Volunteers were given a wide range of jobs from yard work and trash cleanup to painting, repairing windows, doors and cabinets, sealing heating and air conditioning ducts, repairing roofs, re-insulating attics, tearing down walls, heat sealing basements and so much more. For three days, the volunteers (and there were hundreds of them) worked tirelessly to complete their tasks and help their older neighbors fix their homes.
