Walton vs Pope Class AAAAAA Baseball State Championship

After finishing up in Buford watching the Wolves and the Locust Grove Wildcats duke it out I headed over to Marietta to catch the Walton Raiders go up against the Pope Greyhounds.

Walton crushed Pope in the first game 11-1 and although the Greyhounds tried to make a comeback in game two Jason Avers drove in two runs with a walkoff, one-out single in the bottom of the seventh to give Walton a 5-4 victory over Pope and a two-game sweep of the best-of-three Class AAAAAA baseball championship series Saturday.
