I photographed day one of the USA Track & Field Junior Olympics at Mill Creek High School in Dacula for the Dacula Patch on Thursday, July 7, 2011. Thousands of athletes are expected to descend upon Dacula over the next four days for the track meet. The 2011 Region 3 Junior Olympic Championship includes events such as the heptathlon, pentathlon, steeplechase, hammer throw, shot put, discuss, hurdles, relays and sprint races.
