I photographed JavaVino, a coffee and wine bar, for a restaurant review for the Virginia Highlands Patch newspaper earlier this week. Owned by Steve Franklin and his wife Heddy Kuhl, the European styled cafe serves up organic coffee from Kuhl’s parent’s sustainable farm in Nicaragua as well as other farms across the world. These are my favorite images.
JavaVino is located at 579 N. Highland Ave. and offers patrons a selection of coffees and wines as well as sandwiches and deserts.
JavaVino offers patrons a variety of seating options including high and low top tables, a bar, couches and an outdoor patio.

JavaVino serves up the very vegan veggie wrap with a garlic and herb wrap stuffed with hummus, red peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, cucumbers, onions and lettuce and a side of chips.
Steve Franklin, co-owner of JavaVino, over pours a cup of joe using a clever dripper. JavavVino has around 20 coffees that are from sustainable farms all over the world.
