I photographed band camp for the Decatur High School marching band at Oxford College of Emory University in Oxford for a Three of a Kind photo feature for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Thursday, July 19, 2012. This year, the 90 students that make up the marching band, will be performing a halftime show entitled Spy City with music from James Bond, The Pink Panther and Inspector Gadget. The band has been directed by Megan Williams since 2009.

Wow! Amazing photos!!! You captured the spirit of the DHS band for sure!
I was attempting to explain the concept of “marching band” to a Chinese scientist staying at Villa International. These photos helped by showing the students learning their moves, and then practicing with their instruments. I hope to show her the real thing next Friday.
