Holiday Poinsettias

Saturday, November 17, 2012

Thanksgiving means turkey and family and celebrating with those closest to us but it also marks the start of the holiday season. Thanksgiving also means that growers around Atlanta have been tirelessly working on raising poinsettias. Hall’s Flower Shop & Garden Center in Stone Mountain are finishing up growing close to 2,000 of these plants which will be ready starting December 1. Betsy and Ken Hall have been growing poinsettias for the past 33 years. I photographed Ken taking care of the plants for a Three of a Kind photo feature for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
