With December almost over people will be packing up their holiday lights into boxes and storing them until next year. As a final sendoff I wanted to share photos of Callaway Gardens’ Fantasy in Lights. For over 20 years the Pine Mountain destination has been decorating their grounds with literally millions of tiny sparkling lights. This year there are 15 scenes that follow a kind of winter wonderland storybook. Music fills the trolleys used to carry visitors through the hour journey. If the weather brings a brisk wind and you need to find some warmth the trolley station is filled with fire pits and marshmallow roasting stations as well as games. You can also step inside the Christmas Village to visit with Santa or peruse trees filled with ornaments. Fantasy in Lights usually opens in the middle of November and runs through the end of December. If you missed it this year, make plans for 2013.
