More than 3,000 students lined up with their families in the Blue Lot of Turner Field, home to the Atlanta Braves baseball organization, in downtown to receive free school supplies, food, and clothing on Saturday. Sponsored by the non-profit organization, Hosea Feed the Hungry & Homeless, numerous volunteers spent the morning organizing and laying out donations. After a morning prayer, the line started to move as children from elementary school through high school picked out backpacks, paper, pens, erasers, and other essentials. Hosea Feed The Hungry & Homeless is open all year long providing quality human services every week. All of their services, some of which include homelessness prevention, family and child care, senior care and a community outreach, are provided completely free of charge to over 50,000 families and individuals each year.
