Close to 400 people, including actors, both past and present, stage and production crew members, directors, founders and fans attended the Bringing Down the House Party at Dad’s Garage in Atlanta as they said goodbye to the theater company’s old space off of Elizabeth Street. Improvisors and comedians have been entertaining Atlantans for the past 18 years in the smallish but awesome space. The party, which lasted into the wee hours of the morning, included a flip cup tournament, a photo booth, dancing, drinks, shenanigans, drinks, more shenanigans and even more drinks as well as some great camaraderie and sad goodbyes. Dad’s Garage had received notice that their building, as well as the entire property at 280 Elizabeth Street, had been purchased and would be redeveloped in the coming months. Their last show, Dementia Juice, finished July 31. The company moves to 7 Stages Theatre in Little 5 Points and start their new production Aug. 10.
