Welcome Home

I had friends come into town this past weekend from Virginia. We were headed up to Athens for the University of Georgia – North Texas game but first I had to pick them up from the Hartsfield Jackson International Airport in downtown. I got there early and as I sat in the semi-new cell phone lot a mother and her son pulled up. The son jumped out of the car and climbed the retaining wall fence that surrounds the lot to watch the planes taxi down the runway to takeoff to unknown destinations around the world. He was waiting for his father to return home from a business trip. I have had the opportunity to travel around the country and to different parts of the world and there is nothing quite like coming home to loved ones. It’s a time filled with expectation, excitement and a slight nervousness at seeing those I missed while I was away. This simple picture of a boy watching planes sums up all of these feelings so I thought I would share.
