Blue Ridge Georgia

Sunday, September 29, 2013

The sun was bright and shining on Sunday but the temperatures felt crisp and very much like fall. I had traveled up to Blue Ridge, Georgia the day before and now a full day with very little to do afforded me the option of checking out the historic downtown area which is filled with shops and restaurants selling knickknacks, jewelry, furniture and everything you could think of to decorate a cabin. The town also sports a scenic railway which takes visitors on a four hour journey to twin border towns of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee. Many years ago I got to take a ride on the train and wished I was able to do so again but unfortunately it didn’t work out in my favor. However the town started bustling around 11 a.m. and there was plenty to see.
