As the sun set on Saturday and the light of day grew dim, families dressed in their Halloween finest started to arrive at the Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell. For two weekends in October the staff at the nature center don costumes and light the trails as they take visitors on a nighttime hike around the property. Along the trail, there are different stops to talk with costumed characters such as the big mouthed bass or the red winged blackbird, all of which can be found in the wild around Georgia. The hike, which is in its 30th year, is a great alternative to the Halloween norm and a good time to break in costumes before the 31st.
