There is more to a downtown area than just architecture and buildings. A great downtown signifies community, stability, family and a place that makes residents proud that they call a particular city home. It’s a place to come and enjoy a day of shopping, grab a bite to eat, play, exercise or just spend some time with friends and family. Although Atlanta itself has all of these qualities, there are many cities in the metro area that definitely fall into the category of having a great downtown. Suwanee pops into my mind as one of these gems. With a more modern city center, Suwanee has created a fairly open green space right in front of city hall. Concerts and festivals are held in Town Center Park throughout the year as well as art installations. There are also shops and restaurants that span the outskirts of the park which allows residents and visitors alike to hang out and enjoy a day in downtown.
