Saturday was filled with things to do around Atlanta. The Ford Neighborhood Awards were happening down at Philips Arena, Noah’s Ark animal preserve was hopping and collectors and enthusiasts were coming out in droves for the 47th Atlanta Model Train and Railroadiana Show and Sale. 300 tables had been set up in the North Atlanta Trade Center in Norcross with everything train related. Model engines were pulling their loads around working exhibits, locomotives, cabooses and cars were laid out for inspection and sale, trips on authentic passenger cars were being sold and china from different rail lines were set out for display. Children were laughing and in awe as the tiny locomotives pulled train car after train car through mountain tunnels, passed buildings and cars and sometimes monsters battling it out in the countryside! It was a slice of hobbyist heaven.
