Although it doesn’t necessarily feel like it quite yet, winter has come to Atlanta. The holiday season is over but you can still shake off some of the post holiday blues with a trip to one of the many ice skating rinks in downtown Atlanta. The Southwest Rink at Park Tavern is one such place to strap on some skates and fly over the ice. Saturday morning, even with the rain, brought out tons of people to the rink attached to the restaurant at the corner of Piedmont Park. Both kids and adults made their rounds on the ice or by holding onto the railing surrounding the rink, which is more my style of ice skating. You still have some time to lace up your skates as the rink at Park Tavern is open through President’s Day.
