Memorial Day Weekend was full of events. Not just barbeques and parades or music and jazz but also dogs and fundraisers. The city of Brookhaven’s Parks & Rec department featured their first ever Bark in the Park at fittingly Brookhaven Park. Although the attendance was decent for a first time event, those that came out got to enjoy free samples of organic, locally made food for their favorite pooch, frisbee trick shows featuring Dean Werts and Academy Dog Sports, vendors with free samples of treats and canine equipment, a chance to get up close and personal with some awesome dogs up for adoption and a great opportunity to socialize with other dog lovers.
