Special Olympics Flame of Hope

Saturday, June 6, 2015

After a bright and early morning at the All American Dunwoody Soap Box Derby I ran around town waiting until the late afternoon to head down to Turner Field in Atlanta. And although the Braves were playing Saturday evening I wasn’t there for baseball. The Unified Relay Across America was heading to the stadium to help bring interest and awareness to the Special Olympics World Games that will be happening in Los Angeles starting on July 25. Georgia’s special olympian, Will Crain carried the Flame of Hope down Hank Aaron Dr, and into Turner Field to light the cauldron in the Braves’ Monument Gardens.
