Bobby Jones is a legend in the golfing world. To pay a quirky tribute for the past 37 years to that legend, men and women, all of whom bear Bobby’s name, gather together for the Bobby Jones Open. A golf tournament that may not focus completely on the competition but on bringing people from all over the world together.
I woke up early on Tuesday and headed down to Braelinn Golf Club in Peachtree City. The sun started to rise as the first Bobby arrived at the club, carrying his clubs to the driving range to warm up. Soon after more Bobbys started arriving until the range was filled with the sky blue shirts that stood out against the green of the course.
Tuesday was the first round of the tournament, followed by a trip to Atlanta to visit the museum that bears the name Bobby Jones. The final round began Wednesday morning with the winner taking all until next year.
