Tuesday was the first time in a very long time that I have been up the Blue Ridge Parkway. I have vague memories of a family trip with the curvy mountain roads and the sun filtering through the trees and into the back seat of my family’s old Buick. Nostalgia filled the car as the smells of a beautiful summer day wafted through the open windows.
The twisting and winding road led past vistas and tree covered summits. Hiking seemed like a good idea. The Craggy Pinnacle Trail was just what the doctor ordered. A short moderate hike to one of the summits where the mountains seemed to go on forever…
