After heading farther north from the Ancient Bristlecone Pine National Forest, I was almost to Yosemite National Park. I wanted to do some backcountry hiking but the weather was not going to cooperate for a few days, so I wound up in a holding pattern. Not that right outside Yosemite is a terrible place to spend a few days exploring. The first night I found myself camping on the banks of the Owens River. Again I met some friendly people who were more than willing to share their story and their favorite places. Jaime and his family had been coming to the particular campground that we were staying in for years. After the night that I had I completely see why. The sky put on a spectacular show that evening from sunset all the way through until I went to bed!
