Leaving Crater Lake was hard. I wanted to spend more time exploring the trails that criss cross around the volcano. But I had to press on. I was heading for Lyons, Oregon and some friends. Along the way I started to see the familiar brown signs along the roadway calling out forests and historical markers, but also a bunch of waterfalls.
I had met someone in Medford that mentioned a few of the falls that I would see on my way out of the park and low and behold I was a half mile from the turn off to the first one. I had Clearwater Falls all to myself. There were no other cars in the gravel parking lot that was the trailhead and picnic area near the falls. I hopped out of the car and went on a short stroll across fallen trees and the water that flows down the mountain.
