Decatur and the surrounding neighborhoods of Kirkwood and Edgewood have been known for many decades as a haven for artists of all kinds. Potters, painters, metal and glass workers. You can pass by many storefronts and catch glimpses of works produced by brilliant local artists. But you also don’t always have to walk into a store. There are many places around those neighborhoods that have huge murals painted on underpasses, bridges, walls and buildings. I took a trip around town and captured some of the more well known paintings.
