In my career as a photojournalist I have had numerous chances to photograph different fairs and carnivals that have come to town. A fair offers so many opportunities. The sights and sounds fill my senses but what I love shooting most at a fair are the people. Whether the workers themselves or the people attending they always make for interesting subjects. Each year the fair comes to downtown Atlanta nestled near Turner Field and for the past two I have been really happy with what I have captured. The setting couldn’t be more perfect. Riding the Expo Wheel you get an excellent view of the Atlanta skyline. The rides with their lights and the sounds of people screaming as they sling shot through the air or in circles. The smell of the food. The calls of midway barkers trying to get people to play games as they walk by. All of these things combine into a beautiful, if not slightly chaotic, symphony of sights, smells and sounds.
