Not unlike the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park is humbling, So much beauty it is hard not to feel small. Again the photos I am about to share do not do justice to what you can actually experience.
After finishing a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail and getting to see Devil’s Postpile, I headed up the road to Yosemite. I have been waiting for the weather to clear up to do some backcountry hiking and since I started and finished early I wanted to see what my chances were of getting the permit that will allow me to spend the night at Glen Aulin. It was hard not to stop every few hundred feet to photograph the beauty that surrounded me but I was on a mission. I twisted and wound myself up and through the Tioga Pass entrance to the park looking for the backcountry office.
I was in luck! Tuesday I would be heading for a 13 mile roundtrip overnight hike in Yosemite’s backcountry!
