I got to spend another Friday night at Panthersville Stadium in Decatur. This week the Cedar Grove Saints had a chance to redeem themselves from their game against Tucker as they went head-to-head against the Columbia Eagles. Cedar Grove struck first putting up seven points. The Eagles returned the favor but missed the extra point and the teams held each other at bay through halftime. In the second half, Columbia came out and on their first drive put the ball in the end zone. They again missed the extra point. Cedar Grove came back with two interceptions allowing for two touchdowns but only scoring one extra point. In the final seconds of the game, Columbia made a last ditch effort to tie up the game. The Eagles actually put the ball in the end zone but the refs decided that the player was an ineligible receiver and didn’t allow the points. Final score Cedar Grove 20, Columba 12.
