Who doesn’t like a good beer? I know I do and I’m apparently not the only one. Over the past few years the brewing and craft beer scene has exploded in Atlanta. Local breweries and home brewers gone pro have set up shop to bring the city and the world their bubbly and tasty takes on what a beer should taste like. To celebrate, Publik Draft House has organized the 2014 Great Southern Craft Beer Competition. Brewers from all over the city have two months to craft their finest ales, lagers, reds and darks and enter the competition to find out who Atlanta thinks has the best of the beer world. I was given the opportunity to photograph the kickoff party for the competition at Monday Night Brewing in Atlanta on Sunday. Around 350 people came out to taste what the fairly new brewery had to offer in terms of beer as well as register for the competition, compete in a friendly game of shuffleboard, listen to live music, taste some of the food offered at PDH, sign up for a raffle for some pretty cool home brewing supplies and socialize with their fellow beer lovers.
