It’s a rare thing for me to be able to preview an event and then actually get to go. Usually it’s one or the other, but on Saturday I headed down to Oakland Cemetery for the Cryptophonic Tour. Through a partnership with Arts at Oakland and ROAM Transmissions, 17 sound artists set up shop throughout the cemetery to bring the musical history of the place to life. Installations were painstakingly put together with care. Some involved audience participation, others live performances. Whatever the type it was wonderful to hear music drifting through the air among the tombstones on a beautiful sunny day in Atlanta!
